Wider Opportunities
Our pupils also have the opportunity of enjoying additional extra curricular activities, especially in the field of music.
Sandwell Youth Music (SYM) provides a number of musical experiences for children in our school. The following classes receive weekly lessons from their experienced teachers:
- Year 3 - taught to play the ukulele (small guitar).
- Year 4 - taught to play the guitar.
- Year 5 - ICT and music (using Apple Mac computers and software to manipulate and compose musical pieces).
- Years 3 to 6 - a group of pupils have weekly violin lessons.
Pupils across the school also have the opportunity to play the samba drums, recorders and other instruments as well as having singing lessons.
Each term pupils from these year groups perform a concert to parents and the rest of the school.
